Ishani Chandra is the Managing Partner at Sagar Chandra & Associates, where she leads the firm's trademark and patent prosecution practice. A graduate of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, Ishani also holds a diploma from The Centre for Advanced Study and Research on Intellectual Property at the University of Washington School of Law, USA.

Ishani began her career at one of India’s leading IP law firms and joined Sagar Chandra & Associates as a partner in 2010. She has extensive experience in intellectual property rights, particularly in intellectual property litigation and prosecution. Her work encompasses brand development, the prosecution and protection of trademarks both in India and internationally, copyright prosecution and enforcement, as well as patent litigation. Ishani’s clients range from prominent liquor brands to pharmaceutical companies, FMCG firms, and fashion designers.

Her practice focuses on intellectual property law, specifically copyright, trademark litigation, designs, trade dress, domain name issues, false advertising, licensing, and contract matters. She provides counsel to clients regarding the acquisition and retention of intellectual property rights, including internet-related issues, and litigates disputes tied to these rights. Additionally, she has substantial experience managing trademark portfolios and navigating trademark prosecution proceedings before the Indian Trademark Office.
